Department of ECE - Overview

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in the year 2001 with an intake of 60 students and the current intake of the department is 240. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty members and majority of the faculty members are ratified by the JNTUK, Kakinada University. The department has state-of-the-art laboratory equipment like GPS trainer, Satellite trainer, Antenna trainer, RFID system etc. to enrich the students in the field of Electronics & Commination Engineering. The department received three IRNSS receivers from ISRO to explore more on Indian navigation system. The department also offers M.Tech. Program with two specializations: Digital Electronics & Communication Systems (DECS) with an intake of 18 members and Embedded systems (ES) with an intake of 24.

The Department was accredited twice by NBA and also with the present institutional accreditations: NAAC with ‘A’ grade in II Cycles and permanent accreditation by IE(I). The faculty of the department are highly motivated towards research and many of the faculty members published research papers in reputed journals and attended conferences.  Presently, the Department is having 61 teaching faculty with nine Professors, seven Associate Professors and forty five Assistant Professors and 8 non – teaching faculty. The faculty and students are members of various professional societies like IEEE, ISTE, IETE, IE etc. Also, the department has IETE and IE student’s chapters.  The Department has student’s forum known as Elegant’s Active Force (EAF) under which many activities are conducted every Friday to make the students multi-faceted.
