St.Ann’s College Students Win Medals in Taekwondo Competitions
Students from the St.Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology in Chirala have recently harvested a bounty of medals in the Taekwondo competitions organized under JNTUK University. College Secretary Vanama Ramakrishna Rao and Correspondent Srimanthula Lakshman Rao announced this on Thursday.
On this occasion, the college principal Dr. K Jagadish Babu stated that the university-level inter-college tournament and selection trials were conducted at JNTUK Kakinada on October 22. He mentioned that over 50 students from various colleges within the university participated in these competitions. Among them, the Saint Ans students secured 6 gold medals and one silver medal.
Subsequently, college physical education teacher Annam Srinivas Rao stated that in the women’s category, in the 53 kg division, Saint Ans student P. Srilekha won a gold medal, while JNTUK student Padmapriya secured the second position. In the 46 kg division, Rice College student Shyamali won gold, while JNTUK students Sri Sathya and Eeshwari, Pavani secured second and third places, respectively. In the 49 kg division, Chaitanya College student K. Devaki won a gold medal, and MVR College student Hari Chaitanya took the second position.
In the 57 kg division, Sentence College student P. Balarheka won a gold medal, and JNTUK student Nagalakshmi secured the second place. In the 73 kg division, V. Vineeth and in the 62 kg division, V. Pavithra won gold medals. In the men’s category, in the 54 kg division, Saint Ans student V. Manideep won a gold medal, with S. J. D. Massili taking the second position and V. R. Siddharth student Rohit and JNTUK’s G. Teja securing third place.
In the 58 kg division, Malineni College’s Shahid won a gold medal, while in the 63 kg division, Saint Ans student P. Nag Srihari won gold, and Aditya College’s T. Pavan Kumar secured second place. In the 67 kg division, Saint Ans student D. Yajna won a gold medal, while S.R.G.E.C. student D. Mokshajna Sai took the second position.
In the 74 kg division, JNTUK student A. Shankar Rao won a gold medal, with RK College student N. Surya Ganesh taking the second position. In the 80 kg division, Lenovo College student Charan won a gold medal, while Nimra College student Sheikh Masood secured second place. In the 87 kg division, Saint Ans student Sheikh Shahid won a gold medal, while BBC College student Durga Abhinav took the second position.
The college management, along with the principal, various department heads, teachers, and faculty staff, congratulated the Sentence students who won medals.
