St. Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology, Chirala organized World Water Day Program
The Secretary of the college, Mr. Vanama Ramakrishna Rao, and Correspondent Mr. Srimanthula Lakshmana Rao, jointly announced that St. Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology, Chirala, organized the World Water Day program.
The Principal of the college, Dr. K. Jagadeesh Babu, informed that the event was organized under the supervision of the Civil Engineering Department with the support of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the college. On this occasion, he mentioned that Mr. T. Raghuram, Deputy Executive Engineer, Chirala Municipality, graced the event as Guest of Honor, and Dr. M. Sudheer Kumar, Scientist-D, Ministry of Jal Jeevan Mission, Central Ground Water Board, attended as the Chief Guest.
He also mentioned that World Water Day is observed every year on March 22, and for the first time, the Civil Engineering Department organized the event on the campus.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. T. Kiran Kumar, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, stated that water is the lifeline for people, and everyone must conserve water resources for future generations. He stressed that water resources should not be wasted.
Dr. M. Sudheer Kumar, while addressing the gathering, mentioned that the conservation of water resources is a collective responsibility. Mr. T. Raghuram emphasized that water is the essence of life and plays a crucial role in human life. He called upon everyone to take individual responsibility to prevent water pollution.
All the attendees took an oath to conserve water resources during the program.
On this occasion, students of the Civil Engineering Department prepared and exhibited various models related to water conservation. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions conducted as part of the event.
Dr. M. Sudheer Kumar and Mr. T. Raghuram were felicitated on the stage.
The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. D. Jyothi Swaroop, NSS Program Officer. Heads of various departments, faculty members, and students actively participated in the event.
