St. Ann’s College of Engineering & Technology, Chirala organized a Guest Lecture on “Software Engineering Beyond the Classroom” for the students of the AI & ML Department. The program was conducted under the aegis of the AI & ML Department, as jointly announced by the College Secretary Mr. Vanama Ramakrishna Rao and Correspondent Mr. Srimanthula Lakshmana Rao.
The guest lecture featured Mr. K. Samba, Software Engineer at Flipkart, as the chief guest. The event was presided over by the Principal of the college, Dr. K. Jagadeesh Babu.
Key Highlights of the Lecture
During the session, Mr. K. Samba explained the importance of Cloud Computing, including how real-time applications are managed on the cloud and how scalability can be achieved effectively. He also elaborated on the role of API keys, their necessity, integration across various applications, and the security measures that must be followed.
The lecture further covered opportunities in the field of Machine Learning and its practical applications in the industry. Emphasis was laid on selecting the right programming language based on project requirements. Mr. Samba also guided students on how to grow in the software industry beyond classroom-based theoretical knowledge.

An interactive question-and-answer session was held, during which students’ queries were addressed in detail. The successful conduct of the session and the students’ active participation were highlighted by the Head of the AI & ML Department, Dr. C. H. Harikrishan.
